Sarah Ann and Kristine's story started at a Stolen Youth luncheon last year. Kristine was able to listen to the little girl in SarahAnn Sarah Ann's raw honesty, unwavering bravery, and willingness to use her voice left a permanent mark on Kristine's soul. As Kristine sat back and listened to SarahAnn talk about the little girl in her who was forgotten and overlooked.
Kristine found her own survivor voice and started loving the little girl within her who was also forgotten and overlooked. That Luncheon ignited a fire within Kristine, propelling her on a mission to meet SarahAnn, learn from her, and stand beside her in the fight for all the little girls just like us. And true to form, the universe conspired in Kristine's favor.
Two weeks later, She received a call from a friend inviting her to a Game Changers graduation event at Seattle OPS . To her surprise, Sarah Ann stood before her again, this time as the program coordinator for Seattle OPS.
As she watched her celebrate the accomplishments of those brave individuals reclaiming their lives, She knew she had found a kindred spirit, a partner in pursuing radical change. Without hesitation, they joined forces, diving headfirst into the trenches of outreach, venturing into encampments to serve those trafficked, offering them a glimmer of hope in the darkness. In the quiet hours of the night, they engaged in countless conversations, grappling with the complexities of the work they did , and seeking out solutions rooted in compassion and community.
And time and time again, they found themselves returning to the same conclusion: it all comes back to the community. It all comes back to showing up for one another in ways that defy convention and honor the inherent worth and dignity of every individual.
And so, they embarked on a journey to create something truly transformative, something that would empower survivors not just to survive but to thrive.

Currently, programs that are offered within King County to survivors of sex trafficking and domestic violence are not necessarily survivor-led. By this, we mean that there are three different approaches to healing, each having their own level of survivor involvement: survivor-informed, survivor-centered, and survivor-led.
Survivor-informed means that a survivor has been consulted when creating a program for other survivors. Survivor-centered means that survivor’s needs are put at the forefront of the program.
Survivor led means that survivors are not only informing and being centered within the program, but they are leaders within the program as well. This approach ensures that
survivors are in charge of their own destiny by empowering them to heal in their own time while also providing a community where they can support and heal each other.
Survivor-led is extremely important, but there is another aspect to our methods that needs to be explained as well. This takes us back to the founding principle of our non-profit - the more we love. We believe that not only must we provide the physical resources for someone to heal but we also need to create a community of love.
We believe that community comes when love is unconditional, and survivors always feel supported by each other, their case managers, and volunteers. We call this being someone’s constant. Therefore, we believe that a 10:1 ratio of supporters to survivors is necessary to
provide proper healing and access to support.
Many of these supporters will be volunteers that survivors can depend on for smaller tasks, such as being taken to a doctor's appointment, while larger support needs will be addressed and carried out by case managers and other support staff.
